The Study Of The Seclusion-fu In The Six Dynasties

This essay studies the seclusion-fu of the six dynasties, defines the concept of seclusion-fu, and selects several writings to work out its development trajectory. Besides, the author analyzes the seclusion ethos of famous hermits and explains the cultural characteristics and the text features of the seclusion-fu.This essay consists of three parts, introduction, main body, and conclusion. Introduction explains the research achievement, status and methods. The main body includes four chapters. The first chapter selects eighty eight fu that belong to the seclusion-fu concept defined before. The second chapter works out the development trajectory of seclusion-fu, classifies the fu in its dynasty, and studies the writing background and its characteristics. The third chapter analyzes the author and location factors of seclusion-fu in order to explore the cultural connotation. The seclusion cultural connotation reflected from the fu in the six dynasties presents an independent cultural character, which is out of the seclusion connation of Confucianism and Taoists. This independent cultural character focuses on the choice of individual life value and the life style. The fourth chapter focuses on the fu, analyzing its artistic characteristics including the structure, language, the image of hermit and the expression of the emotion. The conclusion part makes a simple summary of the essay and introduces the deficiencies and the study direction in the future.
