His charming literary creations are special and sophisticated in many fields, such as, the novel, prose, and poetry.Known by all, he is talented in writing novels, but his prose is outstanding all the same. Having a large amount of works, getting more awards, encouraging many people, and being praised by his peers, Jia Pingwa is called the genius, prodigy, or the Lone Ranger in literature.As a kind of human being's awareness, life consciousness includes people's feelings and experience of their own, and the viewments and thoughts on other creatures. Possessed only by humans, originated from individual's own experience, life consciousness promotes the development of people from inside, helps individuals to explore and understand the meaning of life, to reveal the vitality of life, and to achieve the ideal of life.With life consciousness, this paper analyses the causes and characteristics of life consciousness, and summarizes the expression, the significance and enlightenment of it in Jia Pingwa's prose. Learning from Chinese traditional and modern western civilization, being influenced by the local culture, working hard on realizing his literature dream, Jia pingwa could express his life consciousness in his prose. It includes five aspects, namely life quest, surveying the state of life, life vitality of celebration, celebration of negative life, life of zen. Because of the considerable value of his literature work in China as well as the world, it is important and urgent to explore the value of life consciousness in his prose, especially for Shaanxi.Generally speaking, the achievement and the flow of life consciousness in Jia Pingwa's prose indicates a good way to success for the contemporary Chinese prose, especially for Shaanxi literature. |
