The Semantic Analysis Of "Tan" And The Idea Explanation Of Confucians Anti-corruption

The original meaning of’greed’is’desire to get something’. The basic meaning of it didn’t change,but its meaning has been expanded, so it including rich cultural connotation. The semantic meaning of ’greed’ and its configuration words will be analyzed, on the basic of’Chinese Dictionary’, with reference to the other authoritative dictionary. By sort out the dictionary definitions of’greed’, we can find that it contains rich cultural resources, and the meaning of it can be divided into five aspects. In order to fully understand the cultural connotation of’greed’, the word’greed’ is divided into two semantic fields:moral semantic field and political semantic field. Then after studying the two semantic fields, I find the origine of why the word’greed’ exist. Anti-corruption is a topic that has been extended since ancient times, this article based on the Confucianism, explore its anti-corruption ideas which are included in its ideology. On this basis, analysis the reference significance of it for moral construction and political construction of contemporary. Finally, it gives some advices on how to restrain greed and how to control corruption.
