Liu Daren is an important Taiwan Chinese American writer, he has been well received by many native and abroad scholars for his diverse literary creation and presenting a unique aesthetic style,the social and historical value. The article focus on Liu Daren's novels, referencing for other genre of his works, cutting to Liu Daren's thought theme of his novels. Then analyzing the utopia idealism and its historical change of disillusionment, the identity anxiety of overseas Chinese revealed in his works, and the seeking of the value of life unremittingly through Liu Daren's works. First,this paper discusses the specific connotation of utopia, the history and deep-rooted reasons of the disillusionment in Liu Daren's works. Second, exploring the identity anxiety presented in Liu Daren's works, the anxiety from the first generation of Chinese moved to Taiwan's mainland continues to the third generation of Chinese born in the United States. Finally, analyzing the special cognition of the original meaning and the value of life presented in Liu Daren's works.
