Research Of The Platform And The Foundation Of Palace Construction In Sui And Tang Dynasties

"Platform" and "foundation" are the important parts of Chinese traditional architecture.In this paper,studying with a total of more than 40 archaeological materials of construction sites and ancient building survey data,the basic situation of platform and foundation of Sui and Tang Dynasties palace building will be discussed,focusing on the pedestal height,package materials,development of foundation technology in the Sui and Tang Dynasties,the similarity and difference between Bohai and Central Plains.Coming to conclusions that during the Sui and Tang Dynasties,high pedestal construction has not been completely eliminated,the rough height range of platform of different types of Sui and Tang Dynasties palace building,platform package lining materials are very similar to the later ones,tile slag foundation come forth and was improved in the Tang Dynasty.From the instance of discusses the architectural platform and foundation,we can see they are the essential parts of study of ancient Chinese architecture,and the significance of these in construction research on phase of Sui and Tang Dynasties and before(lack of surviving examples)can not be ignored.
