The Line In Traditional Chinese Paintings Applied To Chinese Oil Paintings

Line,as an indispensible part of the Chinese painting,act as an important means of expressing the painters' emotion and inspiration.Going through a long-term artistic practice,the form of lines has become rich and meaningful,and the painting produces strong expressive force.Traditional Chinese paintings make a feature of exquisite lines,combining shape and spirit.The lines used in the Chinese painting takes up a critical position.Except for the important role of lines played for Chinese painting,the application of lines also has a great impact on western painting.Many western painting masters have a strong interest in oriental culture.We can find their reference for theoriental art.It has been a long history since oil paintings acting as exotic goods arose and developed in China.Domestic artists have also been exploring the development direction of the localization and nationalization of oil painting.In recent years,although there are many foreign artists' works researching in Chinese painting,seldom works have studied on the line in traditional Chinese paintings applied to oil paintings.However in China,therepresentation techniques and the application of lines in Chinese paintings has owned development,such as the famous painter Wu Guanzhong,who uesd techniques of expression of lines in Chinese paintings to make his own paintings possessing unique innovation.Wu Guanzhong's combination of theory and practice gives very large inspiration to the younger generation.The young artists should be based on the local painting,exploiting exprssion methods and the essence of Chinese painting to promote traditional cultures inherit and develop.This paper attempts to study on the lines of Chinese paintings used in oil paintings and show the richness and expressiveness of the lines of Chinese paintings,while finding the connection between the western oil paintings and Chinese paintings,further to explore more possibilities of developmening Chinese domestic oil paintings and the source of developing Chinese national oil painting art.
