Creation And Introspection Of The Character Documentary "Chasing The Star"

Based on the documentary "Chasing the Star", this paper discusses the presentation and expression of character documentary. The documentary adopted the creation mode of truth film and displayed the life and inner world of groupie with a realistic view.This paper makes analysis to the creation of "Chasing the Star" from two aspects:storytelling narrative construction and audio-visual design. In storytelling narrative, the choice of typical character and typical events are very important. In "Chasing the Star",the creator chooses four representative characters. It regards them as the main line and intersperses with the group of fans, to show the rational thinking of reality.by the umbrella structure narrative and creating suspense. In camera language, the combination of long take and montage can make sure that the authenticity is the same as the artistic expression. In the sound of the voice, the use of actual sound can increase the authenticity.The use of music can increase the infection and performance.
