Research On The Transition Of Traditional Lacquer Craft In Hubei Southwestern Ethnic Regions

The southwest of Hubei province is one of the important ethnic minority areas in China,after a long history of precipitation,which has accumulated a wealth of national folk cultural resources.The lacquer craft is an important part of the local folk art,was also the highest representative of the traditional Chinese culture.It is built on the basis of farming civilization,with primary,with a strong national and regional color,rooted in the folk production and life of the art form.It is the essence of national traditional culture,but also a microcosm of the ancient culture of the region.The lacquer craft of Southwest Hubei belonging to the scope of intangible cultural heritage,with the accelerated pace of modernization,practical appliance industrial machinery production rapidly penetrated into people's lives,gradually replaced the traditional folk handmade crafts,traditional lacquer craft of survival of the natural economy disintegrated rapidly.At the same time,with the development of market economy,the lacquer craft is influenced by the commercialization,and it has a new opportunity in traditional and contemporary choice.The transformation of the society gradually pulled large differences in the machine and manual production,opened the modern and traditional culture of the distance of time and space,people's production and life style and values have undergone tremendous changes.The traditional lacquer craft gradually lost its practical function,its shape and color and the impact of foreign culture on national culture,affecting the formation of national mentality and understanding of national culture,traditional culture lost its past glory in the transition of history.Under the background of globalization,what people pursued is the confirmation of self-identity,the restoration of national self-confidence and cultural consciousness,and the establishment of aesthetic system belongs to the nation.In the inheritance and transition of traditional lacquer craft,the transformation from the practical to theaesthetic function,and to the transformation of agricultural civilization to technological civilization,it realized the fusion of different national culture with the awakening of self-consciousness,then made the traditional lacquer craft in southwest of Hubei province to find a suitable way for its own characteristic development,forming again restoring national self-confidence and promote cultural consciousness.In short,the transition of traditional lacquer craft in Hubei Southwestern Ethnic Regions is the corollary of changes of times and social evolution as well as the confluence forces which are made up of economy,politics,culture and national psychology.During the process of inheritance and protection,the essence of traditional lacquer craft-“hand-making” and “lacquer” are inherited and maintained well,from which we can look forward to cultural renaissance.It also means a lot to the development of the folk arts and crafts.
