In the process of second language acquisition,errors learners make are inevitable,it is necessary to experience the process of language learning.Error analysis as a branch of Applied Linguistics,is an important analytical tool to study and analyze the errors learners make in the process of language learning,and plays an important role in the study of second language acquisition and foreign language teaching.Based on corpus linguistics,this research has created a small corpus of Mongolian English majors.The 117 students in the spoken recordings are transcribed into text,and grammatical errors the students made are tagged according to the China Learner English Corpus of Gui and Yang(2003).The analysis of these errors was performed according to Corder's(1967)procedures of error analysis.First of all,with the aid of the software AntConc,the high frequency grammatical errors in the corpus are retrieved.And then the interlingual errors are analyzed from the high frequency errors,so as to find out the typical errors influenced by Mongolian.Finally,the analysis of language transfer phenomenon of Mongolian English Majors in the process of English learning,and it is theinfluence of mother tongue(Mongolian).The following conclusions are drawn through the analysis:(1)The frequent grammatical errors Mongolian English majors make in spoken English are tense errors,misuse of single and plural forms of nouns,the misuse of articles,personal pronouns and sub-verb agreement errors etc..The tense errors most frequently occurred in the grammatical errors of Mongolian English majors.The Mongolian English majors especially make the present perfect tense and the past perfect tense errors.(2)After analyzing interlingual errors of Mongolian English Majors' grammatical errors,it was found that the major errors were interlingual errors.Thus,the learner's mother tongue has a great influence on the learners' English learning.(3)According to the theory of language transfer,the influence of mother tongue on foreign language learning is inevitable.From the analysis,the negative transfer is the main effect of Mongolian English Majors' English acquisition.This thesis lists five typical grammatical errors that are influenced by their mother tongue,and then points out some teaching suggestions to promote Mongolian students' foreign language learning.Finally,according to the results of this research,the author puts forward some suggestions on the teaching of spoken English ofMongolian students,and points out the limitations of the study,which will pave the way for future improvement and exploration.In conclusion,this research collected the common grammatical errors in spoken English of Mongolian English majors,and did some preliminary analysis and discussion,focusing on the influence of language transfer on foreign language learning.The author hopes to offer a deep research on this field in theory and in practice to raise the Mongolian students' English learning awareness,and effectively improve the Mongolian students' English level.
