Jiumoluoshi is a representative translator of the history of Chinese Buddhism,laid the foundation of Chinese Buddhist theory.It has a profound influence on the spread of Buddhist culture.Mohebore boluomijing is a Buddhist classic translate by Jiumoluoshi,it is narrative.The book deals with Buddhist theories in a large number of dialogues,and retains many spoken elements.It is of great value to the study of medieval Chinese.Because of its conversational language,a large number of elliptical sentences are formed.Ellipsis is not only a phenomenon of Chinese grammar,but also an important part of Chinese grammar.At the same time,we should notice that the current scholars are not particularly concerned about the Moheborebolumijing,especially the study of elliptical sentence on the Chinese translation of Buddhist scriptures,so it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive collation and analysis of this content.Therefore,the paper is based on the Mohebore bolumijing,which is an analysis and discussion of the elliptical sentence.The details are as follows:Chapter one is introduction.Firstly,this paper introduces the corpus Moheboreboluomijing and briefly describes the current research situation,significance and methods etc.The second chapter is “elliptical sentence” and “ellipsis”.The relation between elliptical sentence and ellipsis and the definition of ellipsis are expounded.The third chapter is the classification of ellipsis sentence in Mohebo reboluomijing.The paper analysis the types of elliptical sentence: first,because of the sentence constituent omit and form elliptical sentence,including the subject,predicate,object,attributive,adverbial and headword etc.Secondly,the ellipsis formed by omission of prepositions is analyzed.Mainly include the ellipsis of preposition "Yi" and "Yu".The fourth chapter is the characteristics and reasons of the elliptical sentence in Moheboreboluomijing.It's features include: reduction of elliptical sentence types and Subject Ellipsis,more ellipsis of dialogue,the ellipsis of more colloquial words,the increase in the number of predicates,and auxiliary formation of ellipsis by lexical means.The fifth part is epilogue.Main points of the paper are summarized.
