Paul Creston's "Alto Saxophone and Piano Sonata" op.19 is a chamber music work of piano and saxophone ensemble.It has a strong representative and artistic value,and is recognized as the best works of saxophone and piano cooperation.In this paper,it set "Alto Saxophone and Piano Sonata" op.19 as an example to explore the playing and cooperation issues of piano and instrumental ensemble.Through the study and research of this work using music analysis,the author summed up the learning methods and playing points of piano and instrumental sonata and put it into writing,hoping to help the piano learners improve their performance level in cooperation with the instrumental music,further expand the piano player's understanding perspective of the piano,and promote the development of China's piano chamber music.This paper consists of the introduction,the content and the conclusion.Introduction: The background and significance of this research,the domestic and foreign status quo of research and the research ideas and innovation were introduced.The content contains three parts: the first part is the background study of Paul Creston's "Alto Saxophone and Piano Sonata”,which has two points: first,the introduction of the life and the style of music of the composer,and second,briefing the historical background and creative background of this sonata;The second part is the works ontology analysis of Paul Creston's "Alto Saxophone and Piano Sonata” op.19,which was described from several aspects including musical structure,modal tonality and harmony;The third part is the study of the piano part of Paul Creston's "Alto Saxophone and Piano Sonata”,which was mainly composed of rhythm,melody and alignment,as well as the discussion of how to rehearse piano chamber music;Conclusion: Through the combination with his own learning experience and relating the work ontology,the author can help the players to establish the correct sense of cooperation and achieve a better second creation in the chamber music.
