In the second language acquisition classroom, learning environment is very important and meaningful. The good learning environment is beneficial to the facilitator of teaching activities and the smooth progress of learning activities. As an important part of the learning environment, interpersonal teacher behavior has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars.Since this concept has been put forward, the scholars began to make a lot of discussion on the interpersonal teacher behavior from the perspective of teachers. In these studies, the Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction(QTI)was most commonly and widely used. With the development of related research, scholars have been paying more and more attention on the study of interpersonal teacher behavior from the perspective of students in recent years.Students' perception is one of the most important factors in evaluating the learning environment. It suggests the relationship between students and teachers and has a crucial impact on students' learning outcomes, including cognitive and affective outcomes. The Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction is divided into teacher version and student version,so from the student's point of view, this questionnaire can still be used.In the past, there are more researches on the interpersonal behavior of science teachers, such as math teachers, physics teachers and biology teachers. But few researches focused on the liberal arts teachers' interpersonal behaviors, especially the interpersonal behaviors of English teachers. And in terms of the level of subjects, the previous researches mainly focused on early childhood, junior or high school students, the university level of researches were seldom conducted. What's more,in recent years,in addition to deepening the study of the relationship between interpersonal teacher behavior and student achievements, scholars have paid more attention to the study of the relationship between interpersonal teacher behavior and students' affective factors. However, there are still few studies on the relationship between interpersonal teacher behavior and students' self-esteem which is one of the most important affective factors. This study investigates the relationship among the students' perceptions of interpersonal teacher behavior, the students' self-esteem and their English academic achievements.According to the analysis of the related data,it is found that interpersonal teacher behavior has a significant relationship with students' English academic achievements, students' self-esteem has a significant relationship with students' English academic achievements, there also exists a significant relationship between interpersonal teacher behavior and students' self-esteem.At the same time, from the results of regression analysis,it is found that interpersonal teacher behavior can affect the students' English academic achievements through students' self-esteem indirectly.Based on the findings, the author put forward some suggestions and limitations of the study.
