The birthplace of Chinese Civilization is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River,and Shanxi Province is one of the important areas of this land.The Yellow River flows through Shanxi Province,generated the Shanxi Culture,which produced the folk dance with the feature of Yellow River feelings.The various kinds of folk dance in Shanxi systemized gradually during the development,expressing the folk custom in Shanxi Province and the emotion of Shanxi people.This paper focuses on the analysis of the pace of folk dance in Shanxi Province.The author analyzes the typical pace in the folk dance in Shanxi,and studies the styles and features of it,then the author sketches the skeleton of the dance culture,not only finds the new significance of training,but also summarizes the artistic values and aesthetic values.The author will explore the feasibility of the full development of the Shanxi folk dance,and the author wish to make a little contribution to the heritage and the promotion of Shanxi folk culture through this study.Folk dances come into existence from the lives of people.Each nation has its own dance which possesses the unique pace and style.Taking the pace as the focus of the study of the national dance culture is a way to learn the immanence of the culture.The development of folk dance in Shanxi Province is influenced by the natural environment,the traditional ideas,habits,aesthetic ideal and other factors,and the forms,movements,postures of the dance constitute the unique artistic characteristics.Shannxi folk dance style is defined by the paces,postures,body movements,figures.The pace determines the range of movement,the basic regularity of rhythm and the formation of a dance,and shows out the internal background sources.So that how to study the Shanxi folk dance and what achievement will get is important to the shanxi Folk Dance Research.
