Traditional Decorative Patterns Application In The Modern Lacquer Painting Creation

This thesis examines the application of traditional decorative patterns in modern lacquer painting, based on a perspective of inheritance and development. The discussion will break down the study of this subject into four segments:developing trend of elements application in Lacquer painting; the artistic charming of Chinese traditional decorative patterns; the application of traditional decorative patterns in modern lacquer paintings; and the enlightenment of the infiltration of Chinese traditional decorative patterns into the creation of modern lacquer painting.First, the paper briefly introduces the overall development of modern lacquer painting, analyzes the problems faced by the creation of modern lacquer paintings and proposes that traditional decorative patterns is an elements-a significant one that enable our modern lacquer painting creation to shining with Chinese characteristics under the shocks of polynary culture.Then, based on massive literature research, the researcher compares different definitions and concepts of Decoration, Patterns, and Traditional Decorative Patterns.Summarizes how to present the traditional decorative patterns Nationality. Furthermore, by studying their form, composition, color and the creators'inner thoughts, the researcher extracts the artistic charm of traditional Chinese decorative patterns.Finally, the paper analyzes the actual examples of the application of traditional decorative patterns into modern lacquer painting and summarizes that the application can be demonstrated in four perspectives which consist of simplifying, breaking and restructuring, applying of traditional colors and transferring of bourn and sentiment. It points out that the lacquer painting creation can find its own place among the diverse art only through rooting in native culture, and states the conceiving of the future development of lacquer painting.
