1.Based on document sourcing and field research,this paper will study the cultural origin and the value of Maguai Dance with respect to physical culture,in addition,it will plunge deep into the composition and practice of the bodybuilding exercise adjusted from the dance.2.This study considers legends,totemism and folk religions as the cultural origins.Relevant legends include the Son of Thunder King,the Envoy of Thunder King,the Legend of Donglin,the Treasure of Dragon King.For Zhuang people,Maguai is the god of rain,which closely links to the ancient naturism,totemism and ancestor worship that constitute the cultural origin and foundation of this custom.Maguai dance is the symbol of fortune,reproduction,calamity dispelling,and harvest.As a folk event that embodies the emotion and good wish of the Zhuang people,Maguai dance well satisfies their spiritual needs.The totem of Maguai mainly generated from reproductive worship,pray of rain,and farming activities.3.Maguai dance of the Zhuang people is a representative sacrifice rite,which embodies primitive physical activities.It contains both recreational and bodybuilding values,thus reputed to be a traditional and import activity in the Zhuang culture.Its physical culture values lies in its functions with regard to fitness,comfort,emotional release,art,aesthetics,solidarity,cultural identification,education and cultural heritage.4.This paper will combine the basic choreographic elements and the form of bodybuilding exercise in order to compose bodybuilding exercise featured with Maguai dance.The composition will carry with it the primordial quality as well as modern characteristics,combining features such as fitness,recreation and scientificity.The choreographic elements is forceful and entertaining,which satisfy the needs of bodybuilding,performance,and recreation.It can effectively reflect the regional characteristics of the Zhuang people.Moreover,it complies with the physical and psychological status of students,thus worth promotion not only as a P.E.course but as a community exercise for all.While doing this,the Maguai dance can be passed down and further developed in schools.
