The Stratagems of the Warring States is a historical collection, which represents the most splendid strategists' words and deed in warring states era. The language art of the figures in it has been the concern of many scholars, but it is more based on the art of debating, and the significance in promoting effects on one specific way, which is used by quote and then proved after all, is significantly underestimated. The way is crucial in the Stratagems of the Warring States and the language arrangement in its dialogue is dynamic, but the research of it is still few. That is why I choose the pragmatics way to break the weak point. In this article, this question will be answered by six points:First of all, the present research is showed basically in the introduction, which will be beneficial to learn from the previous study. We focus on how to divide the quotes from other languages and separate them into four kinds, which are greatly helpful for the following statement. After that, the main aim of this chapter is to build the theoretical framework of pragmatics. That theory is the basic of the statement, and that will help us to understand the "quote-and-prove" way much more deeply. The main objective is to describe the language strategy, characterize its multidimensional set of proving and find out the influential factors.Last but not the least, the analysis is made of the effects of the language strategy, and set out from the connotation of the way the strategists choose, the evaluation method of their way of proving will be discussed.
