On The Shaping Of Legalist Thought On The Military Spirit Of The Warring States Period

Spirit is one of the most important factors in war.The spirit of soldiers determines the victory or defeat of war to a great extent.The spiritual factors in the army have been paid attention to in the pre-Qin period.During the Warring States Period,merger wars prevailed.From reality,all the schools of thought at that time attached great importance to war.Legalists,as a prominent School of thought in the Warring States Period,took "enriching the country and strengthening the army" as the goal of governing the country,presided over or participated in reform activities,even directly directed and led the army,and had a direct say in the construction of the army.The military spirit concerning the victory or defeat of the war will not be ignored by the Legalists.For historical and realistic reasons,the Legalists saw with keen insight the importance of shaping an army with a new military spirit,and put forward the unique Legalist spirit requirements different from the traditional and various schools of thought,through different means to shape and play a role in history.This paper will be divided into four parts.The first part explores the reasons why Legalist thought shapes the spirit of servicemen from two aspects of history and reality.The second part summarizes what kind of soldier's spirit the analyst's thought wants to shape,that is,the goal of the legalist's thought to shape soldier's spirit.The third part elaborates the way Legalist thought shapes the soldier spirit,that is,how to shape the soldier spirit.The fourth part is mainly about the Qin State,which was founded by Legalism.It tries to analyze the military spirit created by Legalism from both positive and negative aspects.
