The female problem in China has been paid much attention in academic circles, and has achieved fruitful results. But most of the past studies follow the tradition of the May Fourth Movement.Only criticism does not praise, showing the analysis of one-sided,subjective,do not respect the historical facts.Especially the discussion on the internal change of the intellectual history of the Ming and Qing Dynasties is not enough,so that there are some misunderstandings about the scholars' feminist thoughts in the Qing Dynasty. At present,it is necessary to analyze its contents and values in a more thorough and comprehensive way. Therefore, this paper takes four important scholars of the Qing Dynasty as an example, through the comparative analysis of their thoughts of unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé to reveal the differences and commonality of their thinking, which may have a positive or negative effect on the later female thought. This paper focuses on Mao Qi-ling,Fang Bao,Zhang Xue-cheng,Wang Zhong 's ethical review of the concept of unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé.First of all, through the review part of the study, this article from the general concept of chastity in the separation of virginity chastity, and the main use of literature induction alone combing the history of the virginity chastity. This paper finds that the virginity chastity has been put forward relatively late as the female virtues in Chinese history, but this virginity chastity soon appeared widely accepted by Confucian scholars. The discussion of unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé in the Qing Dynasty basically assumed this as the prerequisite.Although the virginity chastity was unanimously identified as female virtues in the Qing Dynasty, unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé can be or not the topic of female virtues from the beginning to the end are in the state of being discussed.Qing scholars' fundamental differences also lies in this.Mao Qi-ling and Wang Zhong against the unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé as female virtues. They verified the ancient ritual, that since ancient times there is no unmarried women keep chastity happen, and the ancient king did not like to hurt the living because those who are dead.Women in order to maintain their chastity hurt themselves or commit suicide, seriously contrary to the ancient king's thoughts. The difference between their thoughts is to discuss become the descendants of ancestors and become the husband's wife the pros and cons. The difference between their thoughts is to discuss become the descendants of ancestors and become the husband's wife which is more important.Mao Qi-ling re-emphasized rites of the three month's test before the devotion that was less popular at the time.He thought if a girl has been engaged but not offering to the ancestors yet,she was not the descendant of her husband's ancestors. Therefore, the girl whether or not slept with her fiancé,was not eligible to keep chastity for her fiancé.Wang Zhong thought become the husband's wife was more important than to become the descendants of ancestors. The girl hasn't slept with her fiancé so she has no duty to keep chastity.Mao Qi-ling resolutely safeguarded the ancient ethical code, showing his conservative side. The scholars after Mao Qi-ling were opposed the rites of the three month's test before the devotion. This means that the importance of the relationship between the couple gradually be raised even higher than the ancestor worship.Through the analysis of interpretation of the four scholars on the unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé exposition, and compare their similarities and differences, this paper argues that the four scholars of the common is: their attitude towards chastity basically continued the conservative trend after the Song Dynasty, and they all thought virginity chastity is female virtues. They are not aware of the importance of virgin chastity is not the mainstream of China's ancient ideology. They believe that attaching importance to the concept of chastity is inherent in Confucian thought. These scholars have been virginity attitudes and views have been affected so far.Their academic differences can be summarized as: unmarried women keep chastity for their fiancé is female virtues or not;what is human emotion;different attitudes towards the relationship between classics and human customs.Overall, the full text is not from the internal logic and social extension of the combination of research methods. On the one hand, pay attention to the study of philosophical form;on the other hand, will be multi-faceted social factors into the research field of vision.
