Research On Dong Clan's Literature In Pingyuan Of The Qing Dynasty

The Dong family is a famous family in Jinan during the Qing Dynasty.It developed from its military contribution sincethe late Ming Dynasty.Then the Dong clan gradually became a clan of literature which had thrived for over 200 years.Besides,the Dong family improved its reputation and influence by keeping in touch with the temporal celebrities and marrying into the nobility.Although occupying an important position among poets(in Jinan's poetic circlefrom the early Qing Dynasty to the mid Qing Dynasty,the Dong family and their literary creation still hasn't been noticed by current academics.This dissertation explores the prosperity and decline vicissitude of the Dong clan,and discusses its' family traditional culture formed by the family members.This dissertation also discusses the literary interactions and creations of Dong Ne and Dong Yuandu,and then explores the relationship between their poets and the literary development of Shandong.)This dissertation is divided into three chapters.The first chapter explores the development of the Dong family in Pingyuan,discusses its' important family members and their political achievements so as to outline the development track of the Dong family.Considering the fact that most of the Dong clan members(such as Dong Ne,Dong Fang,Dong Yuanggeng,Dong Yuan du,Dong Yun and so on)had poetic works which had already went down to posterity.This part will briefly introduces their lives and works,then investigatesif these works still exist and compare some different versions of these works in detail.At the same time,it analyzes the family traditions of Dong clan(e.g.reading books,being loyalty and filial,appreciating landscapes)to have a more comprehensive understanding of them.The second chapter discusses Dong Ne's life and his literary creation.First of all,section two studies Dong Ne's life experience,focusing on his career ups and downs in the cliquey conflict,based upon the Qing Shi Gao,Ping Yuan Xian Zhi,Kang Xi Qi Ju Zhu and other historical documents.Secondly,it compares the Liu Cun Shi Ji and Hua Guan Shan Fang Shi,and analyzes the change of Dong Ne's attitude before and after his resignation based on the comparison.Finally,this chapterdiscusses the subject matters(themes)and contents,the thought characteristic and the artistic style of Dong Ne's poems in detail,and analyzes his literature concept that there is no boundary between Tang and Song poems.Dong Ne's poems benefit from many brilliant poets,such as the historicity of Du Fu's 'poetic history',the naturality and the clarity of Bai Juyi's poems,and the interactivity of Pi Rixiu and Lu Guimeng's poems,etc.All these distinctive poetical works had inspired him.Firstly,The third chapter takes Dong Yuandu as the research object,studies his life experience related to historical records,Dong Yuandu's poems and notes,analyzes his attitude before and after his resignation.Secondly,this section explores the literary communication between Dong Yuandu and other poets like Lu Jianzeng,Ji Yun,Weng Fanggang.Finally,the author analyzes the contents and styles of poems in Jiu Yu Cao Tang Shi,discusses his lamentable and meaningful poems from the heart,what's more,combs his graceful and beautiful scenery poems and other sincere and present-response poems.Learning form Li Shangyin and Wang Shizhen,he assimilates his life experience into writings at the same time,which build upthe unique feature of his poems.The conclusion part summarizes the evolution process of the Dong clan's "rise-flourish-decline ",summarizes the Dong family's admiration for the nature and independent thinking,their pursuit of extensive and history of their poems'development.The Dong family has its unique influence on Jinan and even Shandong's poetic circles because of the political contribution and brilliant poetry creation of its' excellent family members.In general,the achievement and contribution of this clan consistents with its' fame and influence.
