A Study Of Chinese Auspicious Language From The Perspective Of Cognitive Linguistics

Auspicious language is a kind of special language phenomenon in Chinese,it originated in the ancestors of the language "spiritual things" superstitious worship.People believe that language is spiritual,In order to pursue their own happiness and achieve good wishes,which use the auspicious words initiatively to achieve the purpose of profit and avoid disadvantages.Later,the auspicious language has developed into a polite language,and as a social etiquette.In social communication,the timely use of auspicious language can create a pleasant atmosphere,so that both sides of the communication will be happy,so as to promote the harmony of interpersonal relationships.In the academic circle,There have been many scholars study on the issue of Auspicious language,they are mainly involved in the fields of cultural,pragmatics,rhetoric and so forth,which are a great help to our understanding of auspicious language phenomenon and rule.Through statistical analysis in the research material,now we note that few scholars understand auspicious language issues from the perspective of cognition,especially from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.Understanding of auspicious language words can help us to further broad understanding of Chinese culture,to improve cultural accomplishmen and to develop a good habit of civilization.This article examine auspicious language from these three different perspective: the prototype category theory in cognitive linguistics,conceptual metonymy theory and conceptual metonymy theory,to sort out the auspicious language words behind the characteristics and abundant connotation of their respective types,which are helpful to guide our communication activities and teaching activities.Proved by fact,the main theory of cognitive linguistics,which can explain the unique function of auspicious language issues.We come to knowthat the unique characteristics of auspicious language words,culture and a typical era.
