The central region of late Shang Dynasty located in the northern Henan and southern Hebei area.King Wu divided the central region of late Shang Dynasty into Bei,Yong and Wei at the beginning of Western Zhou Dynasty. But this region was unstable and "Wugeng Rebellion" happened after the death of King Wu.There were two countries(Xing and Wei)in this region after "Wugeng Rebellion",and most of the rest Yin groups were moved off the region at the same time. This article studied the Western Zhou tombs in the northern Henan.and southern Hebei area, and divided the development of the Western Zhou tombs into three stages relying on the pottery typology, and this article synthetically analyzes the cultural elements. The article consists of five parts:The introduction is the first part.It introduces the spatial and temporal scope of this article, and it summarizes archaeological discoveries and current research state of the Western Zhou tombs in the northern Henan and southern Hebei area. The first chapter is the typological study of excavated typical pottery vessels from the Western Zhou tombs in the northern Henan and southern Hebei area.based on the typological study,we divides the development of the Western Zhou tombs into three stages and six segments. The second chapter is the analysis of the cultural elements based on the excavated pottery vessels from the Western Zhou tombs in the northern Henan and southern Hebei area. The Western Zhou tombs in this area consist mainly of late Shang cultural element and pre-Zhou cultural element, and they are affected by the Western Zhou cultural element in the Guanzhong area, meanwhile, some new types of pottery are popular in this area. The third chapter mainly discussed the problem about the Yin adherents. Most of the excavated Western Zhou tombs in Yin Ruins are tombs of Yin adherents. And some tombs of Yin adherents were found in Zhouyuan site,Fenghao site,Luoyang region,Song,Wei,Yan,Qilu and other regions. In this chapter, the tombs of the Yin adherents in the Fenghao region,Liulihe site and Yin Ruins are compared and analyzed. We divided the tombs of the Yin adherents into the tomb with a sacrificial dog in the waist pit,the tomb with a sacrificial dog in the fill and the tomb with no sacrificial dog three types, and discussed the status changing the Yin adherents of different types based on the area of coffin chamber. The last part is the conclusion of this study. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the proportion of the waist pit tombs and tombs with a sacrificial dog in the waist pit in the cemetery the Yin adherents were downtrend in the Liulihe site Fenghao site and Yin Ruins. And the late Shang cultural element of excavated pottery vessels from the tombs of the Yin adherents gradually decreased. In the late Western Zhou Dynasty, there was not great difference between the tombs of the Yin adherents and other Zhou people, which might reflect the fact that the Yin adherents were assimilated into the Zhou people.
