Analysis Of The Image Of The Underlying Female In Urban Novels Written By Chi Zijian

Chi Zijian coming from the world of native literature,has always been concerned about the little people living at the bottom of society.His early works focused on the original strength of life uniquely possessed by the rural world and revealed the daily life of men and women at borderland.In the middle and later periods of 1990 s in 20 th century,Chi Zijian's works gradually turned to the cities and depicted the daily life of little people living at the bottom of cities.Among them,Chi Zijian's understanding and interpretation on the women living at the bottom and edge of cities is precise and unique.But there is no much systematic analysis on the women living at the bottom in the works of Chi Zijian with urban themes.The paper mainly took the urban women living at the bottom as the research objects,started from the concrete text,and made systematic discussion on the urban women living at the bottom from three aspects.The first chapter mainly classified the women images living at the bottom in the fictions of Chi Zijian with urban themes.They were roughly divided into two categories: immigrant women in the cities and women in the old streets.Immigrant women could be divided into factory girls and new urban women from the aspects of education degree and ways of working;street women could be divided into old,middle,and young types according to the age.The women living at the bottom have their own life experience,and are facing material,spiritual and emotional difficulties.The second chapter of the paper started from the unique perspective of Chi Zijian,and discussed about the image constructions of urban women at the bottom from four aspects for identity,personality,emotional spirit and fate.The third chapter elaborated the image implications of urban women images living at the bottom and shaped by Chi Zijian.On the basis of the authenticity of individual experience,the paper thought about the belonging problem of urban women living at the bottom and the handling of sexual relations of urban women and suspected on the freedom obtained from the religious salvation of urban women,revealing the realistic contemplation of Chi Zijian on the urban bottom women groups.Through the analysis on the images of women in the works of Chi Zijian with urban themes,it's not difficult to find that sometimes Chi Zijian focused too much on the legendary life experience and the description of personal emotional experience when shaping such roles,and made the characters poetic and emotional.This would weaken the conflicts between character images and others,realistic environment and it's not conducive to construct the images of the characters.
