A Research On The Characteristics Of Yue-Diao Singing Skills

Xi-Qu is the unique Chinese drama that integrates multiple art forms,indicating Chinese culture,spirit,and ideology.He-Nan province is a place from where many Xi-Qu styles originated and enjoys the title of “homeland of Xi-Qu”.The main purpose of this study was to investigate the development of Xi-Qu in He-Nan province,and then focused on Yue-Diao,one of the three most influential Xi-Qu styles in He-Nan.Yue-Diao has been awarded intangible asset of China in May 20,2006.The first chapter was to introduce the origin of Yue-diao,schools of Yue-diao,and the development of instrumental accompaniment.The second chapter was to introduce the composing techniques of Yue-Diao Music;The third chapter focused on the development and characteristics of“Shen School”of Yue-diao;the fourth chapter was to analyze the main works of Shen Feng-Mei(???)who was the reformer of Yue-Diao music,in order to introducing the main characteristics of“Shen School”,including singing embellishment,Chi-Chu(??singing a bit later than the normal beats)and Zao-Shou(??,finishing the singing than the normal beats),plus-crying and plus-laughing skills.The unique characteristics of the singing of Shen Feng-Mei were discussed.The last chapter was to discuss the contemporary situations of Yue-Diao troops,the training of young Yue-diao musicians,and the reflection on the inheriting and development of Yue-Diao.
