A Report On The E-C Translation Of The Novel The Breeze

This article is a report on the E-C translation of the novel,which mainly talks about the ways of equivalent transformation by illustrating examples to introduce different styles of foreign literature works,foreign culture and the characteristics of novel translation.Hopefully,the reporter can improve literature cultivation and accumulate experience to lay a strong foundation for future translation through the practice.The first chapter is the description of the task which mainly introduces the background and features of translation task and related literature review.The second chapter mainly introduces translation procedure,including preparation,translation and proofreading.The third chapter is the analysis of specific cases.It mainly focuses on equivalence on lexical level,sentence level and textual level and the ways to balance the three aspects of deep meaning equivalence,rhetorical equivalence and superficial equivalence.The fourth chapter summarizes reflections on the translation and suggestions for future improvements.Through the analysis of cases,we could draw the conclusion that total equivalence is hard to achieve.While translators should not be restricted to certain theories and rules.Flexibility and creativity are important characters for translating.
