The Co-operative Holidays Association,established in 1983,is a non-government voluntary leisure organization of England,which has important influence on the working-class tourism.lt was founded in the late Victorian era,and its aim was to provide simple,recreation and educational holidays for the working-class and to promote friendship and fellowship amid the beauty of the natural world.The establishment of the Co-operative Holidays Association was the result of mediatig the contradiction between economy development and the leisure needs of the working-class.Its development process,the contents and features of the activities described the Association's specific operation form,showed its appeal and influence in the working-class and other social strata.The Co-operative Holidays Association has important contribution and influence,such as promoting the popularity of tramp,carrying forward the British culture and so on.As a folk force,the Co-operative Holidays Association's leisure practice is one complement of goverment functions of that case,and it also is the traditional continuation that English people pusure picturesque scenery and crave for natural beauty.The Co-operative Holidays Association's leisure practice is the result of dealing with the relationship between pre-industrial traditions and the need of industrialization properly.It was not only one important witness of the continuity of British history,but also one significant part of it.
