Development History Of Tianjin Municipal Art Museum

As an introduced industry,the gallery industry originates late in China,with short development time.Gallery with the new ear meaning derived from the revolution of 1911,all gallery functions before the revolution of 1911 were totally the same as common museums.Tianjin municipal gallery is the first representative public gallery in China,which was created by Yan Zhikai in 1929,and founded in 1930.Today China National Art Museum is divided into two kinds according to its nature,that is-government invested and privately-run.The rapid speed development leads to various of disadvantages in terms of the management,operation,research and exhibition mechanism,thus the research on domestic art gallery development and reform is increasing day by day,but because the lack of fine arts and literature in the Republic of China period,literature and history with value is relatively little during the Republic of China art research period and there is no systematic research field.As an important foundation and academic reference abundant source,it’s high time that we should have a thorough exploration and research for national art museum literature.Two curators of Tianjin municipal gallery since its establishment are Yan Zhikai and Liu Zijiu,who are pioneers of modern gallery enterprise,both of them were cautious and conscientious,carefully operated during their term of office,which made Tianjin municipal gallery comprehensively develop and become the outstanding gallery in the gallery industry at that time,and made great contributions to modern Chinese arts research and collection,exhibition and education.The paper aims to sort and summarize new found historical data,provide reference for arts history research in the Republic of China era and the influence of arts literature of the Republic of China era on gallery industry construction now.
