On Anti-drugs Campaign Of Early Period Of People’s Republic Of China In Tianjin

After the founding of new China, Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the Central People’s Government of China, the Chinese people carries out a massive anti-drugs campaign. It sweeps opium out in a short period of time, making a universally acknowledged miracle. Macroscopically speaking, this campaign is not only the important content of Social Reform but also one of the important measures of constructing the foundation of political legitimacy, for the Party and the State. The anti-drugs campaign plays a significant role in the history of the PRC.In view of the severe flood of opium and drugs, the municipality of Tianjin initiates the anti-drugs campaign, with the leading of Central Committee and State Council, during the early founding of new China. It ends up with great results, which successful experience is worth summarizing. Based on local data, this paper aims to present its time-and-space background, multiple measures, process and explain its effectiveness and successful factors objectively. To be specific, the campaign of Tianjin is divided into two phases: 1950-1951 and 1952 period, in accordance with the unified management of Central People’s Government.
