Translation Practice Report On Automobile News Translation From The Perspective Of Reception Aesthetics

The subject of this report is translation scripts of automobile news of Huanqiu,a kind of soft message news,which places emphasis on the readability of the text.The Chinese version of the news needs to be attractive in content and appropriate to Chinese habits of expression in order to cater for the reading requirements of readers of different education levels.Reception Aesthetics,which originated in Germany,values readers' participation in the forming of a work,which is in line with the requirement for news translators to pay attention to what Chinese readers value and appreciate in the process of news reading.According to Reception Aesthetics,the readers' horizon of expectation has influence on the translator's translation;therefore,in order to realize the fusion of the horizon of translated text and that of readers,translators could choose either to cater for readers' horizon of expectation or to retain the flavor of the original text and to rebuild the readers' horizon of expectation.Whichever the translator chooses,he or she should fill the blanks and spots of indeterminacy and complement them in an innovative way.This report is aimed at analyzing the influence of readers' horizon of expectation on translation and the innovative strategies the translator uses in translation process in order to meet readers' needs from the perspective of Reception Aesthetics.Examples of original text and translation version will be listed in order to analyze the translation process of headlines,prologues and bodies.The report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to the translation task.The second one is the description of translation process.The third one is to illustrate how the translator translates the headlines,prologues and bodies with the guidance of Reception Aesthetics theory.Examples will be listed to demonstrate the influence of readers' horizon of expectation on translation as well as the translation methods the translator uses.The last chapter is about the summary of translation practice.
