Studies have shown that,children's attention affected their academic performance extensively,especially for children in the lower grades of primary school.Because of the relationship between mathematics and children's cognitive processing capacity is more closely,children's mathematical achievement are more likely to be affected by their attention ability.The past study only explored the relationship between children's cognitive attention and mathematical achievement,however,the study on the relationship between children's behavioral attention and mathematical achievement is few,and even didn't incorporate cognitive attention and behavioral attention into the same model to explore their impact on children's mathematical performance of the study.This study starts from the perspectives of cognitive attention and behavioral attention to explores the influence of children's attention and behavior on the mathematics achievement,and tries to verify the mediation mechanism of basic mathematical ability and teachers' expectation in the two paths.This study was measured children's cognitive attention,behavioral attention,basic mathematical ability and teachers' expectation by Attention Network Test,Teacher Rating Scale,Chinese Rating Scale of Basic Mathematical Competencies,Student Preception of Teacher Expectation Questionnaire respectively,and we also collected their math scores at school.Through the correlation and regression analysis of the data,this study got the following results:(1)cognitive attention(attention network)has a significant positive impact on children's mathematical achievement;(2)children's behavioral attention also has a significant positive impact on mathematical achievement.The analysis of the mediating effect of the data reveals that,(3)children's basic mathematical ability has part of mediation effect in the affective of cognitive attention(attention network)on the achievement of mathematics;(4)teachers' expectation has part of mediation effect on the relation between children's behavioral attention performance and mathematical achievement.Meaning that,children's cognitive attention and basic mathematical ability have a positive effect on their mathematical achievement,further more,cognitive attention affects mathematical achievement by influencing children's basic mathematical ability.Similarly,children's behavioral attention performance and teacher expectations also have a positive effect on math performance,further more,behavioral attention affects the achievement of mathematics by influencing teachers' expectations.In summary,the impact on children's mathematical achievement not only comes from the development of cognitive attention,behavioral attention performance also has a significant role in it.Simultaneously,children's basic mathematical ability and teachers' expectation as the role of intermediary mechanism is very significant.So while promoting the achievements of children's mathematics,not only to pay attention to their cognitive ability and basic mathematical ability of learning,we should also pay attention to the importance of behavioral performance and the expectation of teachers concerned with mathematics learning.This study not only increases the focus on the relationship between attention and academic performance,the results also provide a reference and suggestion for the first-line educators to teach the mathematics with lower grades primary school students.
