| At first Confucian Temples were built in memory of Confucius and later it gradually develops into a Chinese ritual architecture which represents each dynasty’s worship of Confucianism,and a cultural place of lecture and preach.With more attention paid to national culture,the protection of cultural relics has been regulated and emphasized.Confucian Temples,as a precious part of the cultural relics,play an irreplaceable role in spreading Confucianism,promoting social education and carrying forward the traditional culture.Confucian Temples have been actively exploring how to make the best of their social values.Among the 300 well-preserved Confucian Temples,most of them are restructured into museums for protection and utilization.Only a few Confucian Temples were built in Jilin province and due to the improper protection,only the two in Jilin and Changchun have been preserved.By referring to historical documents and relative archival sources,this paper has clarified the 12 Confucian Temples in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China and mainly introduces the history and current situation of Jilin and Changchun Confucian Temples.Jilin Confucian Temple,built in 1742,was the first one built in the northeast area of China.It was rebuilt in another area in 1909,and after more than 20 repairs,the historical building has been preserved and now it has become a key cultural relics site under the state protection.By introducing the several repair projects of Jilin and Changchun Confucian Temples,and the current protective plans of the two museums,this paper discusses the current situation of utilization of Jilin Confucian Temples from aspects of exhibition,social activities,academic research,etc.Based on the analysis of the existing problems,this paper gives suggestions on propaganda,exhibition,academic researches,capital resource,the demand for talents,and the development of cultural and creative products.This paper is hopefully to provide some feasible measures and valuable ideas for the protection and utilization of Confucian Temples in Jilin province. |
