Vocabulary richness is an important index to evaluate the quality of productive vocabulary.In recent years.vocabulary richness has also become the focus of the lexical research.By studying the characteristics of the development of lexical richness of learners,teachers can not only know the complete picture of vocabulary acquisition of learners,but also test the effect of vocabulary teaching.However,the study of vocabulary richness in domestic TCSL is mainly focused on the written language output.while the concern about the oral language output is not much.Besides,cross-sectional studies are more than longitudinal studies.This paper takes 16 intermediate Chinese learners of Beijing Foreign Studies University as the research object and takes the picture talk as the guiding task of oral test,using experimental methods and questionnaires and developmental research,conducts a two-stage oral test at regular intervals in 4 months.This study amounts to 40.38 minutes and transfers out of 5530 words of oral output materials.Through the analysis of oral output materials in the later periods,combined with the "Questionnaire for spoken Chinese vocabulary learning strategies",this paper mainly solves the following three problems:(1)Have the four dimensions of oral lexical richness of intermediate Chinese learners changed after four months,and what is the characteristic of change.(2)Whether the four dimensions of oral lexical richness are related to each other and what is the relationship.(3)Whether the spoken Chinese vocabulary learning strategies are related to the four dimensions of oral lexical richness and what is the relationship.The study indicates:(1)After four months,with an increase of 0.6 percentage points,only the lexical sophistication of the four dimensions of oral lexical richness has significant change.There is no significant change of the other three dimensions.(2)There is no significant correlation between the four dimensions of oral lexical richness.(3)The four dimensions of oral lexical richness of learners are related to their spoken Chinese vocabulary learning strategies.Specifically,the oral lexical diversity of learners is significantly moderately correlated with the compensation strategy.The lexical density is significantly moderately correlated with the cognitive strategy.The rate of errors is negatively significantly moderately correlated with the affective strategy.According to the conclusion drawn from the study,there are some suggestions on the oral vocabulary teaching in the end of the paper.First,teachers should strengthen the awareness of spoken Chinese vocabulary learning strategies of learners.Secondly,create and use the situation of the conversations in the oral teaching.Finally,focus on the development cycle of oral lexical richness of learners.
