Ping-Ti Ho who grapes the essence of Chinese and western cultures is versed in a generation of master of historiography.He get distinguished historical achievements and study field involved in the ancient and modern Chinese and foreign with wide vision.He has made outstanding contributions in history,and win praise for overseas chinese.Ping-Ti Ho's researching is mainly in the field of Ming and Qing Dynasties and the pre-Qin ancient three generations.The main contents include social mobility,capital accumulation,and population development model studies of Ming and Qing Dynasties;The origin of Chinese traditional culture;Pre-Qin scholars thought systems.Because it has been living in the United States from study abroad,coupled with the prevailing social environment and poor communication between China and foreign countries,So he is very famous in foreign countries,but he is known little for the domestic scholars.In order to avoid the duplication of research to the former historians,this paper tries to make clear to clarify Ping-Ti Ho's study,especially pays attention to his historical achievements of introduction and analysis,which detailed people slightly and slightly are detailed.This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter to introduce Ping-Ti Ho's life;The second chapter to review Ping-Ti Ho's historical study of the field and his historical achievements;The third chapter to sum up the characteristics of Ping-Ti Ho's historical study;The fourth chapter to explore factors affecting Ping-Ti Ho's researching.Try to discuss Ping-Ti Ho's academic research and historical achievements comprehensively,and it helps us to better understand master of historiography as big as the sea.
