Research On Xie Qikun’s Historical Achievements And Histrical Thoughts

Xie Qikun born in Nankang Jiangxi Province was not only an efficient magistrate but also a wise historian who had conducted compilation of The Book of the Western Wei Dynasty,Historical Poem of Shujing House and Gazetteer of Guangxi Province during the Period of Qianlong and Jiaqing.However,there is a lack of depth and system in the academic research on his life experience and academic activities.By carefully sorting out his life and academic friendships,we can find that he maintained close academic exchanges with first-class scholars,which made him an influential role in Qianjia’s academic circle.After systematically investigating the historical value of The Book of the Western Wei Dynasty and Historical Poem of Shujing House and the authorship of Gazetteer of Guangxi Province,we can sum up Xie Qikun’s innovation in historical compilation and his specific contributions to chorogrphy.With the help of Xie’s case study,the connotation of historiography during the Period of Qianlong and Jiaqing will be further enriched.
