A Comparative Study On The Love And Marriage Concept Of A Dream Of Red Mansion And Mansfield Park

In this paper,a series of representative characters are selected from the Dream of Red Mansions and Mansfield Manor through the close reading of the two works in the similar concept of love and marriage,different modes of marriage comparison.This paper analyzes the main reasons of the similarities and differences between the two works in terms of ethics and feminism.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part selects three groups of similar marriage patterns: the parasitic marriage,the transactional marriage,the dream style marriage,and a group of similar love pattern: soul love,analysis of the characteristics of these group modes.In the parasitic marriage,women's discourse is lost,and the children are unfortunate.When the transactional marriage broken up,women suffered more from it.The dream style marriage puts up the existence of the wide gap between the ideal and the reality,it is difficult to eliminate the gap.The love with interlinked heart need experience looking for each other,the process of running in each other.The second part analyzes the different manifestations of the marriage of Baoyu and Daiyu and the marriage of Edmund and Fanny.First of all,their attitudes towards the responsibility of marriage are different,Baoyu and Daiyu pursuit of pure love,ignoring the responsibility.Fanny and Edmund presented as restrained love,give consideration to responsibility.Secondly,they have different attitudes towards love and sex.Baoyu and Daiyu?s love is shown as "informed",with more love and sex.Love and sex are symbiosis.Fanny and Edmund?s love is shown as restrained love,characterized by the separation of love and sex.The third part analyzes the reasons for the similarities and differences between the two works.The same reasons are analyzed from six aspects: religious ethics,educational system,marriage system,the transfer of female demands,the demand of self affirmation and social thought.Different reasons are analyzed from the authors? creative purposes and attitudes towards the traditional concepts of sex.
