All five states in central Asia are Islamic countries and the Islamic revival in central Asia is part of the world's Islamic revival.Ever since the collapse of Soviet Union, central Asian countries have experienced a steaming increase on almost all aspects of the religion of Islam. However, all five of these nations have their own features in the local Islamic revival due to the different social backgrounds and historical reasons.Islamic revival in central Asia posts a tremendous and profound lasting effect in central Asian, ranging from personal beliefs, national politics to nation security.Along with terrorism and regional separatists,Islamic extremism has severely threatened the security and peace in central Asia.It comes with urgent and important practical value to analyze the cause and the effect of central Asian Islamic revival. For China, the security of Xinjiang ties both culturally and geographically to the Islamic revival.Modern governments must come to realize the importance of dealing with the relations with Islamic religion and helping to guide the Islam to a point where it can exist in a peaceful and positive way with what is rest in the society, instead of going towards a more aggressive and extreme direction. That is the practical and realistic value of this paper. The whole paper consists of three chapters.First chapter mainly presents the description of the central Asian Islamic revival. It comes with three parts.First is a brief introduction of the history of Islam religion in central Asia.Second is to introduce the mark event as the beginning of Islamic revival in central Asia, which is the Gorbachev's reform.Third is the demonstration of the Islamic revival in different aspects.Second chapter emphasizes on the causes and the features of the central Asian Islamic revival. For domestic reasons, the previous overly strictly anti-religion policy in Soviet Union has buried the root of the revival so the Islamic religion burst back to surface as soon as the Soviet Union collapsed. The stagnated economy and the young population structure has caused many young people unemployed,on the other hand, the Islamic revival required many labor force to fill in the vacancies in religious institutions like mosques and religious schools. For foreign reasons, neighboring and major Islamic countries have given a lot of support to these newly born Islamic countries.Third chapter analyzes the influence of central Asian Islamic revival on the neighboring countries like China and Russia. One of the main threats is the terrorism attack which makes all related countries united together and take actions.
