Study On Age Effect And Its Influencing Factors In Face Classification

The classification of face recognition is an important ability developed in the process of human evolution,and has a profound impact on human life.Face age is an important indicator of face recognition.The study found that age effects were observed when recognizing faces.Age effects include own-age bias and The different age effect.The own-age bias refers to the recognition of the face in the same time,people on the same age face recognition is better than the face of the same age;The different age effect,also known as the other-age classification advantage,refers to the classification of the face,The different age of the face is faster than the same age.In the previous study,there were few studies on the different effect,and own-age bias had already been fully demonstrated.Therefore,the study of the effect of different age and its influencing factors can enrich the theoretical category of age effects.In practice life,we can also use the relevant research results to avoid mistakes and embarrassment.As the two aspects of age effect inseparable,the relationship between the own-age bias and other-age classification advantage has not been explained.Previous studies have shown that the overall processing of the same age faces is a key factor in the recognition of the results.How does the difference in the way of processing affect people's classification of different age faces,and whether there is a certain relationship between the different processing methods needs further study.At the same time,it is found that there is a certain relationship between the age effect and the facial emotion in the face classification when it is found that the processing of other information is restricted to the processing of negative emotional information.In order to explore the age effects of face classification and its related influencing factors,this study designed three experiments.In the first experiment,we use the classification-recognition paradigm to explore the effect of the same age and the classification of the different age advantages,and the relationship between the two.In experiment two,we use the fuzzy-upset paradigm to explore the processing methods of face classification and the influence to the different age effect by separating the face information;In the experiment three,The influence of facial emotion on the age effect of face classification was studied by adding three neutral,positive and negative facial emotions.The experimental results show that:(1)there is other-age classification advantage in the classification of different age faces,And longer classification time can not determine a better recognition of the results(2)There shows fuzzy-upset effect between different face ages,indicating that the face classification is carried out both for the whole processing and the analytical processing,and the overall processing dominates;(3)the different age effect of the face will be affected by facial emotions,the negative face emotion will restrain the different age of classification advantages.
