Research On The Theme Of Suffering In Zhang Wei's Novels From The Perspective Of Modernity

Modernity has been a topic of discussion for hundreds of years.From the day of its birth,it presents the the paradox structure of enlightenment and aesthetics.Modernity is human centered.In the modern society,the suffering and redemption of people become a hot topic.As a responsible writer,Zhang Wei never gave up his concern for the study of realistic problems.In his novels,he always sticks to the criticism and reflection on the society,history and culture,and pays attention to the existential question of human beings.This paper consists of the introduction,three chapters and the epilogue.The introduction makes an overall analysis of the origin of modernity,the relationship of Zhang Wei's literature and suffering.It points out the research situation and existing problems of Zhang Wei,and puts forward the research approach of this paper.In the first chapter,Zhang Wei's novels are divided into three periods,and the changes of the theme of suffering in the novels of Zhang Wei are analyzed.In the 1980 s,Zhang Wei's novels contained a strong color of enlightenment.The pursuit of modernization accorded with the national ideology.In the 1990 s,with the rapid development of economy,environmental pollution,ecological imbalance,moral decline and other issues have been exposed.Zhang Wei still sticked to the intellectual position,his attitude towards social modernization was critical.Since the new century,suffering was still the main line of Zhang Wei's novels,but we can see the warmth in his works.Zhang Wei was dedicated to the pursuit of the true,the good and the beautiful.The second chapter is discussed about Zhang Wei's consciousness of redemption.This paper sums up three kinds of ways of redemption from Zhang Wei's novels.The first is the religion and the love.Through them some one in Zhang Wei's novels have been saved.The second is the nature.Zhang Wei has deep feelings to the wilderness and the nature.The good life on the earth is his pursuit of life.The third is the morality.Zhang Wei always held the inner beauty to promote the moral theme.The third chapter analyzes the modernity connotation of Zhang Wei's suffering theme.There are profound social and cultural connotations behind the evolution of Zhang Wei's suffering theme,including the awakening of the spirit and the persistence of the intellectuals The conclusion makes a brief summary of the paper.It points out that the study on the theme of suffering in Zhang Wei's novels in the perspective of modernity will have the new artistic features.This paper mainly uses the methods of Text Reading,Psychology Analysis,Inductive Deduction and Cultural Studies.Based on the linguistic context and situational context,the changes of the theme of suffering in the novels of Zhang Wei are analyzed.This paper aims to enrich the theoretical study of the writer.
