Before the second World War,a large number of Jews lived in Eastern Europe.Despite their low social status due to the anti-Semitism,they still have equal civil rights in law. After Hitler came into power, the situation turned worse suddenly. The Nazi Germany insulted and expelled Jews by different means. With the advancement of World War II,Nazi Germany and the anti-Semitic governments in Eastern Europe not only deported Jews to Ghetto or the concentration camps, but also began mass murder. This dissertation mainly discuss the Jewish resistance in this period. As for nonviolent resistance,Jews tried hard to find places to hide, while trying to escape by all possible ways.Judenraete bribed the local government to help Jews survive. The underground organizations contributed a lot to forge documents and save Jewish children. As an official institution of anti-fascist,the Soviet Jewish anti-fascist Committee played an active role in rescuing Jews.Jewish people still clung to their religion and customs when they were imprisoned in Ghetto or concentration camp. They carried out lots of cultural activities, continued teaching Jewish children and recorded everything happened, hoping that the truth could be discovered someday. As for violent resistance, more and more people turned to violent resistance as a result of the spread of “the final solution”.The dense forest in Eastern Europe provided a natural place for guerrillas. Many revolts happened in ghetto and concentration camp, which shocked the Nazi Germany, like Warsaw ghetto and Auschwitz. In addition,Jews in the armies of the Eastern European countries made a great contribution in the war.Based on this, this dissertation focus on the analysis of the character and the influence.Jewish resistance movement was a mass participation movement,of which the youth acted a backbone role in it due to its strength and courage.Since the Jewish Spiritual and cultural resistance was a part of Jews' struggle to delay the process of the Nazi massacre, the Jewish resistance had diverse forms. However, all of this couldn't happen without help from non-Jews.Although lacking funds and unity, because of which the scale and influence of Jewish resistance movements were limited,it did leave a lot of records and documents about this history, witnessing the crime in the war.Jews in Eastern European struggled to survival during the Holocaust, hold their belief and promoted the spirit of the Jewish people that was not dispersed for thousands of years.Being national heroes, resistance fighters played an important role in cohering Jewish people from all over the world in the establishment of Israel. However, the excessively use of Holocaust resource is criticized and questioned by more and more scholars.
