Study On Thought Of Coastal Defense Of Yang Changjun

In the late Qing Dynasty,the Western powers brought a huge impact to Chinese traditional coastal defense with their strong military powers.The late Qing Dynasty coastal defense is faced with a serious crisis.After the Opium War,a man of insight in the Qing government had began to think about the problems of defense and gradually aware of the huge gap between Western and Chinese coastal.When the Sino-French War broke out and coast defense crisis has intensified,this made the development of the modern coastal of late Qing Dynasty already have widespread.Yang Changjun inherited the experience of coastal defense on the basis of predecessors and accumulated practice experience in the Japanese invasion of Taiwan and the Sino-French war,which enriched the defense thought.He not only put forward many valuable suggestions for coastal defense,but also made outstanding contributions of the coastal defense construction in the late Qing Dynasty.This paper do a more comprehensive study on Yang Changjun's defense thought and activity.This paper introduces Yang Changjun's thought of coastal defensed and activity in the follow four parts.The first part is the origin of Yang Changjun's thought of coastal defense which analyzes the internal and external factors from five aspects.The second part is Yang Changjun's coastal defense strategy,it analyzes three coastal defense strategy thoughts of Yang Chang.The third part is Yang Changjun's thought of coastal defense construction,which mainly expound from the coastal defense,coastal facilities,coastal defense personnel and the supply of funds in four aspects.The fourth part is the evaluation of Yang Changjun's thought of coastal defense from two aspects.
