Freedom of Strike Movement for Japanese Prostitutes is a social movement that abolishes the system what is based on the protection of women's human rights and the liberation of women.In 1872,the Meiji government promulgated the "prostitution liberation order" to prohibit the sale of prostitutes,but because of the lack of understanding of the women's basic human rights and without the appropriate measures,the law exist in name only,prostitutes did not get liberation,licensed prostitution system has not been abolished either.As a result,with active participation of the Wind Club and the Salvation Army and other religious groups,all over Japan set off prostitute-elimination movement.The movement was not completed until the Japanese government promulgated the "Prohibition of Proclamation Act" in 1956 and after the proclamation of the abolition of the system of prostitution,the Freedom of Strike Movement was an integral part of the prostitute-elimination movement.Since the Japanese government publicly admitted the system of licensed prostitution,the prostitute-elimination movement was tantamount to being opposed to the powerful government,so it was difficult to achieve the goal.As a result,the Japanese Christian community looked for a new way that they launched a Freedom of Strike Movement to hope to help prostitutes free to break out,gradually eliminate the profile,so as to achieve the purpose of the abolition of public prostitution.The research topic of this paper is to explore the Freedom of Strike Movement.Based on the analysis of the background of the Freedom of Strike Movement,this paper combs the whole process of the movement from the rise to the end,points out the influence of the movement on the Japanese society,and explores the reasons why this movement doesn't achieve the complete abolishment of licensed prostitution system.This paper is divided into four chapters to discusses and analyzes the Freedom of Strike Movement for Japanese Prostitutes.In the first chapter,the background of the movement is explained from the four aspects of the tragic life situation of prostitutes,the prostitute-elimination movement,the introduction of Japanese human rights related laws and the lifting and development of Christianity in Japan.In the second chapter,from the rise of the movement,the leading role of the Salvation Army,the active participation of the newspaper office,the corresponding measures taken by the government and the end of the movement,it elaborates on the free closure movement of Japanese prostitutes from the rise to the end of the whole processThe third chapter points out the influence of the Freedom of Strike Movement for Japanese Prostitutes on Japanese society.The movement prompted more prostitutes to leave brothels,forced the government to clear the existence of the system of licensed prostitution and aroused a new round of prostitution and aroused a new round of prostitute-elimination movement climax.The fourth chapter analyzes the reasons why the Freedom of Strike Movement for Japanese Prostitutes can not achieve the goal.Pointing out that the special environment of Japanese society,the nonsupport of government and the obstruction of brothels,the limitations of religious movement and the lack of appropriate aftermath measures,the advance payment is not resolved,etc.These situations cause the movement failed to achieve the desired purpose.The conclusion part makes a summary of the above-mentioned discussion and analysis,makes evaluation on the Freedom of Strike Movement for Japanese Prostitutes and proposes the related research topics for the future.
