"Da tang xi yu qiu fa gao seng zhuan" is one of the representative works of the Tang Dynasty monk named Jing Yi.This literary book have been done at Srivijaya country when he returned from India.In the form of monk biography,this book describes many explorations like the South China Sea,India and other places of the early Tang Dynasty from 641 AD to 691 AD more than forty years about fifty-seven monks(including Jing Yi himself).Whether it is on the study of the history of Chinese Buddhism or ancient overseas trade and traffic history "Da tang xi yu qiu fa gao seng zhuan" has important significance.Because of all kinds of history,politics,man-made transmission and other reasons,there are lots of differences between various versions.And this situation will certainly cause great trouble in our further study.Based on this,this paper is going to compare eight versions such as “Qi Sha Zang”,“Jin Zang”,“Gao Li Zang”,“Hong Wu Nan Zang”,“Yong Le Bei Zang”,“Qian Long Zang”,“Da Zheng Zang” and Bangwei Wang's version.At the same time I will reference to previous research results like “Hui Lin Yin Yi”.In this paper use of exegesis,version,philology and other theories Knowledge into classification and examination.The first chapter is the introduction,mainly introduces the monk JingYi''s life,works,and the main content of "Da tang xi yu qiu fa gao seng zhuan",as well as research summary,value and predecessors research results.The second part of the paper is classification in three aspects.The third part researchs some of the important differences,combined with ancient books,dictionaries,and related research materials.Four chapters for the conclusion part,summed up all the viewpoint of this paper.
