This is a report on the project of translating "Future of Food--Shaping a Climate-smart Global Food System" which was published by the World Bank in October,2015.The source text introduces the Climate-smart Agriculture(CSA),including the conditions of implementation, the effectiveness, the procedures. It also offers suggestions on how to achieve climate smartness through four aspects—incentives, knowledge, science and finance to achieve triple wins. The source text features rigorous logic, accurate language and abundant information.According to the text typology developed by Reiss, the translator firstly chooses the Text Typology to identify the text type in accordance with language function and then classify it into the informative text. After that, the translator chooses Chesterman's translation norms--expectancy norms and professional norms based on Reiss' s text typology to guide the translation process with the employment of translation techniques such as conversion, amplification and restructuring. The main content of this source text is divided into four parts: Chapter One is the introduction to the translation project, including project background, objectives, significance and structure.Chapter Two presents the research background, including theoretical foundation for the translation and a general analysis of the source text.Chapter Three is about translation difficulties and methodologies, consisting of translation difficulties, translation preparations, translation methodologies, and the examples that are used to explain the translation methods used in the process of translation.Chapter Four concludes the report with the lessons and unsolved problems.
