| This article is based on the perspective of heterogeneity of self-esteem,using the subjective and objective evaluation of the peer relations,combining the quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to find a good way to explore the real path on how to improve the high self-esteem and harmonious peer relationships.This research explores the situation and differences of self-esteem,social anxiety and peer relationship of 709 urban pupils.At the same time,collecting teachers’ evaluation and their peer evaluation in the class,using semi-structured interview from the 12 interviewees to prove that the social anxiety as a intermediary role between self-esteem and peers relation of the children in the city.Concluded as follow:(1)There is a significant differences in gender,age,class cadre,family structure among the self-esteem,social anxiety and peer relations.(2)There is a significant correlation among self-esteem,social anxiety and peer relationship in elementary pupils.The self-esteem negative predicts students’ social anxiety,social anxiety negative predicts peer relationship satisfaction.The self-esteem positive predicts peer relationship satisfaction(3)The heterogeneity of high self-esteem influence peer acceptance and rejection.True high self-esteem person has low social anxiety,good companionship,high popularity,high self-evaluation and high other’s evaluation.While defensive high self-esteem person have a higher social anxiety,be excluded from the companion,significantly inconsistent self-evaluation and other’s evaluation in peer relationship.Gender differences in defensive high self-esteem cause popularity and rejection.Low self-esteem person have lowest self-evaluation and other’s evaluation.(4)Children’s social anxiety plays an intermediary role between self-esteem and peer relationships,but the relationship in defensive high self-esteem are higher then the total being investigated person. |
