Compared with the ripe development of Hong Kong crime film,because of the special social culture context of mainland,crime film can't be the mainstream genre.Since the beginning of the new century,with the development of society,culture and economy,the number of crime films in the mainland rises.The good film appears now and then.The portrayal of negative characters has breakthrough.Therefore,the author starts with the disposition,narrative,aesthetic and authenticity aspects of the characters through the sorting of the image,research on the functions of the film,and approaches of shaping the negative characters in the criminal film in the mainland in the new century,integrates the original script “Sin of Yesterday”,analyzes the approaches of the characterization of negative characters in the criminal film in the mainland in the new century,so as to conclude general creation patterns.
