| Among English-Chinese translations of different texts,that of technical texts is of significance in scientific research,theoretical research and practical application both at home and abroad.The key to technical texts translation is to convey the original information and knowledge as faithfully as possible.Functional translation theories,which regard translation purpose as the fundamental,can help the translators choose proper translation strategies and realize the function of technical texts.By taking examples from a Chinese version of Big data:Seizing Opportunities,Preserving Values,this paper discusses key points of technical texts translation from lexical,syntactic,and discourse perspective.Specifically,the lexical part discusses the translation strategies for technical terms and nouns;the syntactic part discusses the translation strategies for passive sentences,parenthesis,and complex and long sentences.Based on such discussion,this paper further puts forward the translation standards,principles and strategies of technical texts,in the hope that it can provide some reference and help improve the efficiency and quality of technical texts translation. |
