Fill The Class Discourse Markers In Modern Chinese

The thesis studies the modern Chinese hesitation fillers.It can be divided into"well(er)"(?(?)),"is"(??),"this/that"(??/??),"then"(??)four categories.It researches systematically from the form characteristics,the relationship between the pragmatics,pragmatic functions and meta pragmatic awareness and explains the using regulations.The first part introduces the research object and scope of this thesis,expounds the purpose and significance of the thesis,summarizes the research results of the predecessors,and then introduces the methods,theories and corpus sources used in this study.In the second chapter,according to the research of predecessors' discourse markings,this thesis synthesizes a large number of linguistic facts,defines hesitation fillers and summarizes the nature of hesitation fillers.On this basis,the thesis analyzes the location and reason of the hesitation fillers,and sums up its judgment standard.According to the frequency of the hesitation fillers,this thesis divides it into four categories and furthermore describes each of them.The third chapter tries to discuss the formal characteristics and the interrelationship of the hesitation fillers.It mainly analyzes the distribution and internal level of the hesitation fillers like"well(er)"(?(?)),"is"(??),"this/that"(??/??),"then"(??)etc..We will analyze and describe the distribution of the hesitation fillers from three aspects:discourse stage,use situation and discourse distribution.And the internal level of the hesitation fillers will beanalyzed and described from“having no actual meaning”and“relatively useful meaning”these two aspects.The fourth chapter tries to explore the pragmatic function of the hesitation fillers and it can be divided into three catogeries: discourse organization function,interpersonal interaction function and context compliance function.The fifth chapter summarizes the whole thesis and puts forward the relevant ideas and further research directions for the problems in the process of writing this article,which weren't in-depth discussion.
