Study On Heroic Image Perception In Paintings Themed With Chinese Modern History-Based On "Art Creation Project Of National Significant Historic Theme"

In the year of 2004 and 2009,our nation has launched the“Art Creation Project of National Significant Historic Theme” and “Art Creation Project of Chinese Civilization Historic Theme” with huge investment funds.Thus,it can be seen that art creation with historic theme is an important part of Chinese art history.However,these works were usually only labeled or simply described the author's creation situation in exhibition,without any specific explanation.It's extremely difficult for us to understand what these works intend to tell about.For example,almost all works themed with battles look like the same.People can only recognize it's an art work about war but nobody knows which battle it is.Therefore,it becomes very significant to study how audiences perceive these works.This paper mainly attempts to analyze how the artists create these “historical art works of hero characters” by classifying and selecting all the heroic themes in “art creation project of national significant historic theme”.Secondly,this study has divided testees into three groups,which were tested for twice.The pretest is on basis of the three dimensions of “perception”(cognition,emotion and aesthetic judgment),which aims at comprehending the heroic image in these selected paintings.The post-test aims at finding out the best guidance approach for the three group of testees to comprehend the heroic images in selected paintings respectively guided by works' name,creation background and event background.The author has selected the public group with a total number of 60 people,who comes from Chongqing,Zhejiang,Guangxi and Anhui,etc.The conclusions are summed up as follows:1.The perception ability on art works of any individual can be significantly improved by guidance approaches(marginal significance was regarded as significance).There is not a significant difference in individual's perception between different guidance approaches.2.The affection on heroic art works of any individual can be significantlyimproved by guidance approaches.There is not a significant difference in individual's affection between different guidance approaches.3.The affection on the work's expression ways of any individual can be significantly improved by guidance approaches.There is not a significant difference in individual's affection between different guidance approaches.4.The emotional intensity triggered by event background can be significantly improved by guidance approaches.However,there is not emotional intensity change triggered by works' name and creation background.5.When selecting different emotions,the individuals will be guided to choose“joy” and “anger”,instead of “fear”.The individual in different gender will be affected by their occupation when selecting “fear”.However,there is not any difference in selecting “sorrow”,“sadness” and “complex emotions ” of individuals between different guidance approaches.
