Analysis The Music And Techniques Of Chopin’s《Brilliant Variations》Op.12

Chopin was one of the most representative composers in the middle period of the romanticism.The most of his compositions are mainly for the piano,and the style is colorful and wide-ranging.Variations is one of the few branches in many Chopin’s piano works.《Variations brillantes》Op.12 is recomposed according the aria《Je vends des scapulaires》in the opera 《Ludovic》which completed by Ferdinand hérold and Fromental Halévy.This paper takes the work as the example to explain the reason of the popular trend which adapted opera to piano music in the period of romanticism,fill the domestic blank of the historical data in the creation background of《Variations brillantes》Op.12,and illustrate the details of the playing techniques in this music.This paper will be divided into three parts,the first part of the paper expounds the inseparable relationship between opera and piano,in the romanticism period of 19 th century,piano and opera prosperous developed.With the continuous improvement,the pianist can play more difficult skills,and began to recompose the pieces of famous opera during this period.The adaptions by composer make these opera blooming on the stage again.Composers in the 19 th century are mostly pianists,so the piano works reach peak stage in that period.In order to meet the needs of the audience,many genres were created to performance,variations as a kind of piano works has also been widely used.Chopin’s 《Variations brillantes》Op.12 is created in this period.In the Paris opera house in 1833,Chopin as an opera loyal audience attended the premiere of《Ludovic》.The song of "I want to sell coat" as the start of the opera had catchy melodies,left a deep impression to the audience.Therefore Chopin according to the short song composed the 《 Variations brillantes 》 Op.12 for his students miss Emma·Horsford.Chopin’s adaptation makes people recall this forgetting music.The second part of the text analysis the variations,the total is divided into six parts:introduction,theme and variations of four times.All begins with B major,mainly introduction line for variation.Chopin’s music is not only to show off,he is more pay attention to the beautiful music and coherent,so the musicality is intense and colorful.It is the most popular one in Chopin’s famous six variations.The three part of the text analysis many difficult skills in this music.This paper takes etudes and sonatas in classical and romantic period as the example,explains and analysis the difficult skills in detail,hopes to offer help for the pianists who want to learn this music.
