The famine in South Asia occupies a particularly important place in the history of famine in the world.In this area,Bengal is a famine-prone area.The local population has a large and dense population,there are often famine in history,especially in the British India period,the famine has occurred a dozen times,the number of victims is very large.Today,food security issues are still a vital issue in the local.The Bengal famine of British India in 1943 took place in the context of the Second World War.War and the Indian Independence Movement dominated the Indian consciousness at that time,and people focused on the two major events.Hidden in the back of the great famine was all levels of intentionally or unintentionally ignored.The famine of Bengal is the result of historical contingencies and inevitability,the famine is not known to the world,the reason is that was in the Second World War,the world war shifted the attention of countries,this makes such a tragedy covered up by war and disappeared in front of people.In fact,this famine led to the death of more than 3million Bengal people,Countless people live in hunger,the rest of the people can only rely on grazing and human flesh to survive,this famine caused heavy disaster and far-reaching impact to Bengal and even India,and became a tragedy in human history.The cause of the incident was caused by a cyclone attack at the end of 1942 that caused food production in Bengal,but mixed with other factors such as inflation,soaring prices,plague rampant,spread of disease,and the disruption of food transport in Japan,the occupation of food supply to Myanmar,it caused the outbreak of the great famine.Desperately,the British colonial authorities did not pay attention to the occurrence of famine and responded slowly,and they focused on the preparations for war,they are indifferent to the pain of the lower people,which makes the Bengal people into a deeper pain.Finally,the negative measures taken by the British for famine also bite them,the famine caused and deepened local social conflicts and ethnic conflicts,further stimulating the Indian people's anti-British and national independence movement,eventually forced the colonists had to officially withdraw from India in 1947.
