A Discussion On Various Performance Forms Of The Ruan Family Series

After the successful creation of the Ruan family series of musical instruments during the 20 thcentury,the various performance forms of the Ruan family series became a new direction and angle for the musical instruments' development.Compared to the development of a single Ruan instrument,the rounded,subtle,and strongly fusible sound characteristics of the Ruan family group allowed the Ruan Xian orchestra combination forms to have a broader horizon for further development.This thesis is based on the writer's study and artistic practical experience over the years within a Chinese Ruan Xian orchestra,which are used as examples for sorting out and conducting a relatively comprehensive analysis of the various performance forms of the Ruan family series,and of the problems encountered while in process of exploring the topic.Meanwhile,this work also provides a reasonable outlook for the future development of the Ruan family series.
